FIRST CONGREGATION FOR 201415 ACADEMIC YEAR

 

The University of Malawi wishes to inform the 2014/15 Graduands and the general public that its 2014/15 academic year’s first Congregation will be held on Wednesday, the 27th January, 2016 in the Great Hall at Chancellor College, in Zombafrom 7:30 a.m.The Vice Chancellor, Professor John D. Kalenga Sakawill preside over the ceremony.

Rehearsals

Dress rehearsals for the Congregation will be held on Tuesday, 26th January, 2016 from 8:00 am in the Great Hall at Chancellor College in Zomba. Graduands are requiredto come in their graduation attire and are asked to be punctual. Only those that attendthe rehearsals shall be allowed to graduate.

ACADEMIC DRESS

Academic dress for the Congregation shall be available for hire from Wednesday 20th to Monday 25th January, 2016 from the respective Colleges. The hiring charges are as follows:

  • Diploma/Certificate Set K 5000.00
  • Bachelors Set K6 000.00
  • Masters Set K25 000.00
  • PhDSet K30 000.00

All candidates shall return their academic dress at the end of the function. Any unreturned academic dress shall attract a penalty fee of K5 000.00 for the first day and K2 000.00for each subsequent day payable before the release of the certificate.

Candidates who owe the College money shall not be allowed to graduate. Candidates who require photography services shall be informed about the details of accredited photographers during rehearsals.Candidates should contact respective Colleges for invitation cards of their guardians.
