SOCIETY FOR MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND EVOLUTION REGIONAL SYMPOSIUM CHANCELLOR COLLEGE ZOMBA SEPTEMBER 18 22 2019
The University of Malawi in collaboration with The Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge and University of Antwerp (Belgium) will be hosting a Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution regional symposium from 18 to 22 September 2019. The meeting will focus on how the study of genetics or genomics of natural systems can help in understanding the process of evolution in general, how understanding of genetics or genomics of natural systems can be applied to both natural conservation and resource management, the genomic effects of hybridisation between native and alien species, the impact of human-induced selection on genomes (through hunting, fishing, or environmental perturbation), the use of population genomic techniques for inferring human-induced population changes and the use of (meta-) genomics to monitor ecosystems. It will draw keynote speakers from universities in the United Kingdom,Australia, France, Denmark, South Africa, Kenya and Zambia. For details follow the following link: https://smbe-malawi.org/
