Dr. Asiyati Chiweza is an alumni of the University of Malawi. She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science Degree majoring in Economics from University of Malawi, then moved on to do a Masters degree in Public Administration at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada. Later, she obtained her PhD in Public Administration from Curtin University, Perth, Australia. Currently, Dr. Chiweza is serving as an Associate Professor of Public Administration in the Department of Political and Administrative Studies, University of Malawi. She teaches, does research, and outreach on a variety of courses such as local government, Public Financial Management, Public Sector Reforms and Public Sector Ethics and Governance. Dr. Chiweza also serves as a facilitator on Code of Ethics and Conduct under the Malawi Parliamentary Training Programme for Members of Parliament and is a Member of the Ministry of Educationā€™s Steering Committee of the Transition Unit of the UNIMA delinking exercise.
