Isotope Geochronology, Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology, Remote Sensing/GIS Applications, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Field Mapping Techniques. Other research interests include the application of remote sensing data combined with other data relevant to environmental concerns, integrated into Geographic Information Systems (GIS), as a tool in the production of pollution-risk maps around mining areas.,

Profile

Obtained a Doctorate in Geology at the University of St Andrews (UK) in 2016. In my research I have used high precision single zircon U – Pb geochronology coupled with radiogenic isotopes and geochemistry, integrated with petrographic studies in understanding the geodynamic evolution of the “Mozambique Belt” as reflected in the calc-alkaline magmatism and associated supracrustals in the broader context of Rodinia and Gondwana continental assembly. Received an MSc (Geo-information Science & Earth Observation) Degree at ITC in the Netherlands with the project’s field geological mapping carried out in the Sorbas Basin in southern Spain in 2002. Graduated with a BSc (Earth Sciences & Geography) Degree in 1983 from the University of Malawi, thereafter worked as a teacher and a geologist in the Malawi Government for 20 years up to 2005. Senior Lecturer in Geology at the University of Malawi (Chancellor College) - from 2005.
