Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor

 

The School of Law, Economics and Government is inviting applications to fill one (1) post of Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in the Department of Private Law.

Job Requirements:

  1. Applicants for the post of Assistant Lecturer must hold a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class from a recognized University;

  2. For the post of Lecturer, applicants must in addition to holding a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class and a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) from recognised universities;

  3. For the post of Senior Lecturer, applicants must in addition to holding a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class and a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) have a good record of publication in their field of expertise; and

  4. For the post of Associate Professor/Professor, applicants must in addition to holding a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class degree and a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) also have a PhD from a recognized University and a good record of publication and research in their field of expertise

Duties & Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities shall include:

  1. Teaching private law courses and currently the need is in the following courses;

    1. the Law of Business organizations,

    2. Labor Law and,

    3. Intellectual Property

  2. Undertaking research and consultancy work;

  3. Participating in community outreach activities;

  4. Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student projects;

  5. Participating in all academic and professional activities of the Department;

  6. Initiating research projects;

  7. Initiating and participating in resource mobilization activities; and

  8. Carrying out any duties as may be assigned by the Head of the Department and the Executive Dean from time to time.
