Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor in Mathematics Education ( 1 position)

The University of Malawi invites applications from interested and suitably qualified persons for the challenging and demanding academic position in the Department of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education.

Qualifications

Applicants for the position of Lecturer must have at least a Master of Education Degree in Mathematics Education plus a Bachelor of Education Degree in Mathematics with credit or distinction obtained from a university recognized by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

In addition to the Lecturer level requirements, applicants at the Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor level should also provide evidence of their publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of Mathematics Education.

Duties

The successful candidate should be able to:

• Teach Mathematics and Mathematics Education courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels,

• Set and timely mark assignments, projects and examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Mathematics and Mathematics Education,

• Supervise and examine postgraduate Students in Mathematics Education,

• Supervise students on teaching practice, and

• Carry out research, consultancies and outreach activities
