ADVERT FOR STAFF ASSOCIATE/LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN CLASSSICS
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill a vacant post within the department of Classics at Chancellor College for the grade levels of Staff Associate and above. The applicants are expected to teach classical civilisation courses as well as classical languages. Applicants for the level of Staff Associate will be expected to complete the requisite post-graduate qualifications. Those applicants who can teach a course on Gender in Antiquity, among other courses, will have an added advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of Bachelor of Arts degree with credit majoring in Classics. Those applying for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and above, should hold a Masters or Doctorate degree in Classics or related field from a recognised university, obtained subsequent to a Bachelor’s degree with at least Credit.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

Teaching various Classical civilisation courses and/or the ancient languages at undergraduate level.

Supervising research projects of undergraduate students

Participating in outreach programs of the department
-
Developing and reviewing syllabi and curricula

Contributing to departmental research activities and disseminating research findings through conferences and research journals

Participating in various academic and program committees of the university
-
Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department or the Dean of the Faculty.
