CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE DREAMBUILDER ONLINE CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME

The University of Malawi E-Learning Centre, in partnership with the Arizona University (ASU) under the SHEAMA project, is inviting applications for a DreamBuilder course to be hosted by the Mathematical Sciences Department at the University of Malawi. DreamBuilder is an online training programme that provides skills and knowledge to start and/or grow one’s own business, through a series of 13 interactive courses and a self-paced training schedule. The goal of the program is to help potential entrepreneurs achieve success. The courses that are included in the program cover the basics of starting a business as well as relevant topical areas such as marketing, finance and accounting. In addition to the interactive courses, participants have access to helpful tools and templates. Throughout the program, a Business Plan Generator guides the participants in the creation of a business plan. The program is self-paced and takes 3 to 5 weeks to complete. Successful applicants will be given a certificate of completion and also have a chance to win a small grant depending on the viability of their final Business Plan.

Eligibility

The call is open to the following two categories:

  • Students who participated in the SHEAMA supported short course programs
  • ODL in diploma statistics students who completed their studies or are currently in their final year of study.
