The Department of History, Archeology and Heritage Studies’ themes revolve around a wide range of areas in historical, archeological and heritage studies. The pursuit of these themes is enhanced by research, fieldwork, as well as archival and museum-centred activities. The department has undergraduate modules in social and economic history into which modules in archaeology and heritage are integrated in years one and two but specialized in years three and four. The department currently offers one postgraduate programme, the Master of Arts in African Social and Economic History.
