The Department of Theology and Religious Studies has made great strides since its inception in 1976. As a Department within a higher learning institution, the Theology and Religious Studies Department continues and strives to be a department of excellence in the provision of moral education both for academic ends and professional careers and training for sustainable development through the advancement of education, training, research, consultancy and outreach programmes. Whether students come to the subjects with a particular faith perspective or none, there will be much that will engage them intellectually and challenge their assumptions. Theology and Religious Studies offers unique courses that look at the world around us through the lens of religion. Understanding how different beliefs have influenced society, and how they still play a major role today, helps theologians answer some of the big questions in life.
