65th graduation ceremony

Quality and competitive education is a key to the country’s economic development and that of cross-border educational recognition.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Malawi Professor John Kalenga SAKA was speaking in the Great hall at Chancellor in Zomba on the 65th graduation ceremony, where 438 grandaunts received their Degrees and Diplomas from different disciplines.

Among the graduating students, 168 were female and 290 males with 2 females and 4males were awarded PHDs.

He further said the University of Malawi is offering the quality education that is competing on international job market.

The Minister of Education, Science and Technology Dr Emmanuel Fabiano, said the Government will continue to employ graduates upon the need for it to do so.

He said the university education gives a window of better thinking capacity to students to venture into their private business in order to reduce unemployment problems in the country.

Fabiano then urged continuing students to work hard in their education in order to realize their future dreams.
