Profile

Sunduzwayo Madise, is the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Malawi (since June 2022). He holds a PhD from the University of Warwick, a Postgraduate Award in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from the same University, an LLM from the University of the Western Cape, which he obtained cum laude, an LLB (Hons) from the University of Malawi, and a BSc from the same university. Prior to his current role, he served the University of Malawi as Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dean of Students, Head of the Department of Practical Legal Studies and Postgraduate Coordinator of the Faculty of Law. He also served as Chair of the Unbundling Taskforce during the transition from a federal into a standalone university. He further served as the coach of the University of Malawi team that competed in the Africa Inter-University Challenge. His professional and scholarly expertise spans financial services regulation, electronic transactions law, digital payment systems, commercial law, and corporate finance law.
