BRAILLE TRANSCRIBER- 1 position

The Braille Transcriber will be engaged at the University of Malawi, Special Needs section. Applicants must have a Degree in Education, majoring in Special Needs. With at least three years of relevant experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Braille transcription/ word to braille and braille to word

2. Counseling and guidance of special needs students and/or their roommates.

3. Testing visual acuity both near and distance.

4. Orientation of mobility to students with special education needs (VI)

5. Managing daily operations for the daily living of special needs students.

6. Working as a bridge between students, lecturers and the general public.

7. Making referrals to the hospital for clinical assessment.

8. Assisting in curriculum modification.
