GENERAL PRACTITIONER

Position Requirements

• Bachelor of Surgery or Bachelor of Medicine from any recognized institution;

• Registered with Medical Council of Malawi;

• At least 1 year work experience post internship experience;

• Flexible to work in a fast growing, and changing environment;

• Excellent communication skills;

• Must be self-starter and able to work independently within minimum supervision;

• Able to work during odd hours

Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing the patients across the whole range of medical specialties in line with general policies and guidelines of the Malawi Health System;

• Dealing with emergencies, either organizing treatment at the Health Unit, or swiftly preparing the client for referral to an appropriate facility;

• Ensuring highest standards of patient care for all patients/clients attending the clinic;

• Conducting prevention and health promotion trainings;

• Drafting budgets and work plans for the clinic;

• Mentorship and supervision of other members’ of the team;

• Report writing;

• Managing of all medical records.
