Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in English Language [updated]

Qualifications

Candidates for Instructor position must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language with credit. Candidates for Lecturer positions must have at least a Master’s Degree in English Language/Linguistics or any related field with a minimum of TWO years teaching experience. The candidates should be conversant with in two or more of the following areas:

• Comprehension and Essay Writing

• Description of English

• Modern Usage of English

• Grammar.

Duties and responsibilities

Successful candidates for academic positions will be undertaking the following duties:

1. Teaching, setting and timely marking examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate students

2. Conducting research in their area of specialisation

3. Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student projects within the Department

4. Participating in all academic and professional activities of the Department

5. Being part of academic consultants within the broader areas of the department
