Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Philosophy

The Department of Philosophy invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Philosophy. 

Qualifications and Attributes 

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Master of Arts in Philosophy or Master of Arts in Applied Ethics, with a strong background in the core areas of Philosophy (Logic, Metaphysics, Epistemology, Ethics, and Social and Political Philosophy).

• Leadership skills, including ability to teach and mentor others, integrity, dependability, and team building skills.

Duties

Specific duties shall include, but will not be limited to: 

• Teaching, setting and timely grading of examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

• Conducting research in the area of specialisation.

• Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects within the department.

• Participating in all academic and professional activities of the department.

• Initiating research projects.

• Initiating and participating in resource mobilization activities.

• Carrying out other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
