Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Entomology

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor in Entomology in the Department of Biological Sciences tenable at the University of Malawi.

 Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of credit and a Master’s Degree in Entomology, Parasitology or a related discipline. Applicants must have studied Invertebrate Zoology or Biology at Bachelors level. In addition, the applicant must have demonstrated teaching and research abilities in Biology.

Duties

The successful candidate for the academic position will be undertaking the following duties:

1. Teaching various courses e.g. Entomology, Parasitology and Immunology at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

2. Conducting research in his/her area of specialisation.

3. Participating in Departmental, School and University wide committees

4. Being part of academic consultants within the broader areas of the department.

5. Participating in outreach programs of the University.

6. Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department/Dean of School.
