Staff Associate/Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor of Literature in English
The Department of English at the University of Malawi is looking for one candidate to fill the post of Staff Associate/ Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor of Literature in English.
Suitability and Duties
Candidates applying for the position of Staff Associate should have a minimum of a BA (Humanities) or BEd (Language) with Credit or above, majoring in English.
Those applying for the position of Lecturer should have at least a Masters Degree in Literature with a minimum of two years teaching experience in two or more of the following fields:

Literary and Cultural Theory

African Film and Cinema

Malawian Literature
-
Oral Literature and Popular Culture

European Literature
-
Afro-diasporic Literature
-
Creative Writing
Those applying for the position of Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/ Professor should have at least a PhD in Literature/Literary Studies. The candidate should also have a minimum of two years of supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. They should also show evidence of publications in international peer-reviewed journals. For the position of Associate Professor and Professor, in addition to the above requirements, the candidate should have a good track record of handling research projects, show evidence of strong inter/national research linkages and networks, and should have experience of engaging with the community.
