University of Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the post of Staff Associate/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Church History in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Malawi.
Job Requirements
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

For the post of Staff Associate, candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Arts Theology (BTH) degree with credit from a reputable institution.

For the post of Lecturer, candidates must have a MAasters Degree, in addition to a bachelor’s degree with credit, in any of the following areas of specialization: Early Church History, Medieval Church History, Reformation, and African Church History

For the post of Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Professor, candidates must have a good record of publications in their field of expertise and must show evidence of initiative in research in their area of specilisation.

Leadership skills, and evidence of creativity and community engagement will be added advantage.
Duties and responsibilities
Successful candidates for academic positions will be undertaking the following duties:

Teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students;

Conducting research in their area of specialization, as well as within the broader areas of the department;

Participating in departmental, school, and university wide committees;
-
Participating in outreach and consultancy services within the broader areas of the department; and
-
Carrying out any duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
